MÉRIDA.- Once again, in the south of Mérida , a traffic accident was recorded involving a Va y Ven bus, which caused considerable material damage.
Hours earlier, a collision between a Mexican Army vehicle and another Va y Ven transport unit was reported, also in the southern part of the Yucatecan capital.
This new accident occurred at the intersection of Circuito Colonias Avenue and 54A Street, which is regulated by traffic lights.
A van, owned by a private company, was driving along Circuito Colonias Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
Upon reaching the intersection with 54th Street, he collided with the front of a Va y Ven bus that was traveling along this street.
Due to the strong impact, both vehicles were left in the middle of the avenue and suffered considerable damage.
Although there were people injured on the bus, none required hospitalization, which would help those involved reach an agreement on payment of damages.
However, this was complicated because neither of the drivers admitted to having run the red light .
In such a situation, a traffic expert would arrive at the scene to, based on traffic regulations, identify the person responsible.
This Tuesday, two Va and Ven units crashed in colonies in the south of Mérida.
Prior to the incident recorded in Circuito Colonias, a military vehicle hit one of the public transport units in the Castilla Cámara neighborhood .
In this case, the soldier behind the wheel accepted responsibility for not noticing the stop sign.
