Book Fair 2025: Today's Recommended Books, April 27

The first weekend of the 2025 Fair closes with offerings ranging from a love of history, with tributes to great Argentine authors and a focus on young people who approach literature through digital tools and social media culture. At the Clarín / Ñ stand , at 4:30 p.m., writer and philosopher Tamara Tanenbaum will discuss her book "Un millón de cuartos propia " (Paidos 2025 prize) with critic Alejandra Rodríguez Ballester. And at 5:30 p.m., journalist Susana Reinoso will interview writer Jorge Fernández Díaz about his novel "El secreto de Marcial ," winner of the Nadal Prize in Spain.

At 2:30 p.m., Graciela Ramos presents The Mansion Cook, a period romance novel . Romance, gastronomy, drama, and comedy are featured in this historical romance in the Rodolfo Walsh Room.

Half an hour later, in the Pride and Prejudice room, Uri Bleier , the author of This Body of Mine (Alfaguara, 2024), will talk for the first time in Argentina about the lineage of gossip and glitter in which the protagonists of his latest novel are inscribed.

At 4 p.m., the panel "Mesa Saer" will be held, in which various authors will remember the Santa Fe native twenty years after his death. It will be held in the Carlos Gorostiza Room.

New voices

At the same time, in the Julio Cortázar room, Male Hehn, Lete Martínez, Karen Delorbe, and Mariano Cattaneo will analyze "New Voices in Argentine Young Adult Literature ": Horror, Romance, Love, Paranormal, and Fantasy. Some YA experts will debate the most widely read genres among young people.

Two activities will be held at 5:30 p.m. First, there will be a book presentation: 80 Years of The Aleph by Jorge Luis Borges with writer Carlos Gamerro in the Julio Cortázar Room; and second, Literature and Mandates: Literary Imaginations Around the Must Be with Marina Abiuso, Analía Couceyro, and Paloma Fabrykant in the Alejandra Pizarnik Room.

To close the day, at 7 p.m., Sergio Olguin and Rodrigo H. Vila will star in Beyond History: Verne and Mengele Reimagined in Fiction . How to Reinterpret Historical and Controversial Figures from Fiction, Taking Them Beyond Reality in the Rodolfo Walsh Room; while in the Alejandra Pizarnik Room there will be a Tribute to Edgardo Cozarinsky , who died in June 2024; and Eduardo Sacheri will converse with Jorge Fernández Díaz in the José Hernández Room about his book Too Far Away.
