The village of less than 300 inhabitants hidden between mountains with stone streets and medieval houses

Spain's rich heritage and natural beauty are recognized worldwide, and throughout the country, you can explore corners of unparalleled beauty. One of those places that seem straight out of a fairy tale is the Vall de Boí, located in the equally fascinating region of Alta Ribagorza. In this setting, north of the province of Lleida, nestled in the Pyrenees, lie fascinating , small, idyllic villages .
One of those dreamy towns hidden among the high Pyrenean peaks, in a valley reminiscent of the most incredible Swiss landscapes, is Tahúll, one of the most impressive spots in all of Catalonia. This town of 300 inhabitants is not only surrounded by bucolic landscapes that leave everyone amazed, but its medieval historic center also houses authentic treasures worth discovering.

Tahúll is one of the several villages scattered throughout the Vall de Boí, although it's probably the most unique of all. Its beautiful historic center, made up of narrow cobbled streets flanked by houses still standing from the Middle Ages, makes it a rural paradise. Crossed by the Remediano Ravine, it feels more like a movie set than a real place.
Although strolling through the town's maze of streets and discovering each and every one of Tahúll's wonderful hidden corners is a unique experience, there is one part of the town that stands out (and rises) above the rest: the Church of San Clemente and its imposing 25-meter-high bell tower. This church is one of the many Romanesque-style churches in the area that have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Built in the 12th century, this magnificent church is one of the most beautiful in all of Spain and a must-see stop on any tour of the Bohí Valley. This basilica-style church with three naves was consecrated in 1123, although it wasn't the only religious building in the town that was consecrated that same year: the beautiful Romanesque Church of Santa Ana was also consecrated.
Furthermore, the Pyrenean surroundings of Tahúll make the town one of the best rural tourism destinations in all of Spain and a perfect place for nature lovers, as near the town center you can complete incredible hiking trails and explore fascinating natural sites.
How to get to TahúllThe village of Tahúll is located about two hours by road from the city of Lleida. To get there, simply take the A-14 and then exit onto the N-230. After several kilometers, take the turnoff onto the L-500 and, finally, take the winding L-501, which passes through the village of Bohí and leads to the town center of the destination.
