The S19 expressway is one of the most important routes in Poland, particularly crucial for the eastern part of the country. Its construction is advancing rapidly. The Malewice-Chlebczyn section is 65% complete. As part of the construction of this section of the Via Carpatia route, a large bridge structure is being built, connecting both banks of the Bug River.
The crossing is located on the border of the Podlaskie and Mazowieckie Voivodeships . The entire structure will consist of a 200-meter-long bridge and two viaducts, each 325 and 135 meters long. According to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), the bridge construction progress is 53.10%. The border bridge is scheduled for completion in 2026.
The 25-kilometer section between Malewice and Chlebczyn is the southernmost section of the S19 expressway in the Podlaskie Voivodeship . In addition to the bridge over the Bug River, two interchanges are being built along this 25-kilometer section: Siemiatycze North and Siemiatycze South, and two service areas are also being constructed.

The S19 expressway in the Podlaskie Voivodeship will be over 177 km long. Its construction has been divided into 15 shorter sections (including the Bielsk Podlaski bypass).
Construction of the S19 expressway will cost nearly PLN 2 billion. According to estimates, the entire section of the S19 between Rzeszów and the national border in Barwinek will be completed in 2031.
