Good news for passengers - from March PKP Intercity announces acceleration on the tracks. Shorter travel times have been announced, among others, from Warsaw to Rzeszów and to Wrocław, the capital will also gain a new connection to the Tri-City. In turn, changes in train traffic will occur in the direction to Słupsk and in the Silesian Voivodeship.
PKP Intercity informs in its latest announcement about timetable changes that will come into effect from Sunday, March 9 and will be valid until mid-June. The revolution concerns long-distance connections on the Warsaw Central-Wrocław route - the fastest Pendolino will cover this distance in 3 hours and 29 minutes (the change will come into effect on April 8 - ed.).
However, this is not the end of good news for travelers from the capital - it will be possible to reach Łódź Fabryczna from Warsaw in 1 hour and 6 minutes (IC Esperanto and Prząśniczka), while mountain lovers from central Poland will reach Zakopane in 4 hours and 29 minutes .
"We will travel record-breakingly fast on the route from the capital to Rzeszów. The economical IC San train from Warsaw to Przemyśl via Radom and Sandomierz will cover this route faster than at present: the journey will take 3 hours and 47 minutes, " reports PKP Intercity.

In turn, weekends and holidays, IC Kinga from Krakow to Warsaw will travel on an extended route to Olsztyn .
"During periods of increased passenger traffic, more seats will be available on the IC Skarbek train on the Olsztyn – Warsaw section , as the train will be made up of two electric trains. It will be able to carry over 700 passengers ," the carrier added in a statement.
PKP Intercity also reminds about the modernization of some sections, so passengers will have to prepare for a number of changes. On the Lębork - Słupsk section , instead of the IC Parsęta train, the IC Lazur train, which previously ran on the Łódź - Warsaw - Gdynia route, will run . In turn, the IC Słupia train will be shortened by the Gdynia - Kołobrzeg and Kołobrzeg - Gdynia sections.
Modernization also applies to Silesia and the Dąbrowa Basin .
"The route of the trains currently running to Bielsko-Biała will change: IC Korfanty from Warsaw and IC Daszyński to Białystok . Both trains will travel to Gliwice from May 6, stopping in Zabrze, Katowice Załęże, Chorzów Batory and Ruda Śląska, among others. Due to this change, the indicated trains will no longer stop in Tychy, Pszczyna, Czechowice-Dziedzice. In order to make it easier for passengers from the Silesian Voivodeship to plan their journeys, PKP Intercity has introduced the acceptance of tickets with Koleje Śląskie," adds PKP Intercity.
