EU Translator Fired on Suspected of Spying for Russia
During a closed meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and EU heads of state and government, a Ukrainian interpreter was caught taking notes – which is strictly prohibited in such situations.
In December, the leaders discussed Ukraine's military situation and continued European military support in Brussels, following the re-election of US President Donald Trump the previous month. The meeting participants sought to reach a common position before Trump's return, after promising at the time that he would "end the war in 24 hours."
