Strong Voice from the Government on Peace Mission in Ukraine: "Polish Soldiers Won't Go There"

- Politically, we support the peace agreement and the next steps, but Polish soldiers will not go there - said Tomasz Siemoniak in the program "Graffiti", referring to the words of the advisor to the US President. General Keith Kellogg suggested that Warsaw - in addition to other European capitals - would take an armed part in a possible peace mission in Ukraine.
The host of the program Marcin Fijołek, starting the conversation, asked about Tomasz Siemoniak's comment on the words spoken by General Keith Kellogg regarding a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine . The advisor to US President Donald Trump stated in an interview for Fox Business that Poland should be involved, also militarily, in such a project.
- We are talking about the British, the French, as well as the Germans and now the Poles, who will deploy forces west of the Dnieper River - he argued.
The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration recalled that shortly after this statement, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz " very clearly denied this information ".
- General Kellogg's statement should be treated in such a way that Poland plays a very important role when it comes to these talks (peace negotiations regarding the war in Ukraine - ed.) - he said.

- The issue of the peacekeeping mission, which has been much talked about for some time, is the second third step. The most important thing will happen in the coming days (…) We said very clearly that there was no question of sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine - he added.
Continuing the topic, the minister was asked by Marcin Fijołek whether Polish politicians are not making declarations on this matter too early . According to Tomasz Siemoniak, our country's allies perfectly understand the situation we are in, including the fact that we border directly with the Russian Federation and Belarus.
- It places Poland in a completely different situation. Politically, we support the peace agreement and the next steps, but Polish soldiers will not go there. This is not a matter of electoral calculations , current events, but a conscious decision that everyone understands - he emphasized.
