Gynecologist Attacked by Braun in War on Haters: "They'll Come for You"
  • Dr. Gizela Jagielska, a gynecologist from Oleśnica, became the target of a brutal attack and threats after performing a legal abortion in a case of severe fetal damage
  • Her personal data and death threats were published on social media, exposing the ineffectiveness of the current mechanisms for protecting doctors in Poland.
  • The doctor has repeatedly testified at the prosecutor's office, emphasizing the need to prosecute haters and collecting further evidence of their actions.

The Ministry of Health published information after the events at the hospital in Oleśnica
After the incident in Oleśnica, the medical self-government appeals for the regulation of abortion regulations

- Today, exceptionally, at 8 o'clock I am not going to work at the hospital, but to the prosecutor's office. Anticipating hateful comments, no, I am not accused in the case of murdering newborns or fetuses - begins the recording of Dr. Gizela Jagielska, who found herself at the center of controversy after performing an abortion in the case of severe fetal damage.

- I'm going to testify once again so that those who take out their aggression, frustration and other internal problems on me or other doctors online don't feel safe - continues the gynecologist from the hospital in Oleśnica.

The doctor became the target of an intense campaign. She was flooded with hate, her personal data was made public, and criminal threats appeared online.

One publication, authored by a right-wing blogger, contained the statement: "according to God's law, she deserved to die at the hands of people for shedding innocent human blood."

In Poland, doctors performing legal medical procedures, especially abortion, are increasingly becoming victims of organized hate campaigns. The case of Dr. Gizela Jagielska shows not only the scale of hate in the public space, but also the need for systemic support for medical personnel in dangerous situations.

- Because the internet and social media are not a sewage system into which you can throw up everything and you will remain without consequences. So think before your next comment, because they will come for you, not me . Best regards - the doctor ends in a recording posted on social media.

Although Polish law provides for the punishment of threats and harassment, cases like this one show how ineffective the protective mechanisms can be. The police detained four people, including a priest . However, as Jagielska herself points out, there may be many more perpetrators.

- I collect new evidence almost every day - she said in an interview with "Gazeta Wyborcza".

Let us recall that in April, MEP and candidate for President of the Republic of Poland Grzegorz Braun (Confederation of the Polish Crown) broke into a hospital in Oleśnica and tried to prevent gynecologist Dr. Gizela Jagielska from working.

Together with Braun was, among others, MP Roman Fritz (Confederation of the Polish Crown). After these events, the District Prosecutor's Office in Oleśnica initiated an investigation into, among others, the deprivation of liberty of the doctor .
