Important announcement from ZUS: an application submitted by August 31 guarantees payment by September 30

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has awarded the 300+ benefit to nearly 3.3 million students, paying out a total of PLN 634 million. To receive the funds by the end of September, applications must be submitted by the end of August.

As part of the Good Start program , parents can receive PLN 300 once a year for the purchase of school supplies , i.e. for example, the purchase of textbooks, notebooks and all equipment necessary for learning in:
- primary schools,
- high schools,
- post-secondary schools,
- other educational institutions.
According to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) , since July 1st, benefits have been granted to nearly 3.3 million students. PLN 634 million has already been paid.
"Applications for the new benefit period can be submitted from July 1st to the end of November. Submitting an application by the end of August guarantees payment of the benefit by September 30th, " said Grzegorz Dyjak from the ZUS press office, quoted in the press release.
An application for benefits from the Good Start program can only be submitted electronically - via:
- mZUS application,
- ZUS Electronic Services Platform (PUE),
- electronic banking,
- Emp@tia portal.
The application for the 300 plus benefit must include:
- bank account number,
- email address,
- phone number.
You should also complete the children's details and information about the schools they attend or will attend.
It is worth checking whether we have entered it correctly:
- Child's PESEL number,
- name and address of the school,
- current account number
- the Plant reminded.
Information from ZUS about granting the 300 plus benefitThe following persons may apply for the 300 plus benefit independently:
- adult students not supported by their parents,
- people becoming independent leaving foster care.
Information about the granting of support will be available in the inbox on the PUE ZUS profile - also if the application was submitted via electronic banking or the Emp@tia portal.
PUE ZUS will also contain all correspondence regarding the benefit application:
- a request to supplement the application or attachments,
- information about the granting of benefits,
- decision refusing to grant benefits.
The benefit will be paid only to the designated bank account.
Criteria for granting the 300 plus benefitWhen is the 300 plus benefit due?
It is payable per child:
- which is learned,
- is between 7 and 20 years of age or up to 24 years of age,
if they have a certified disability, regardless of their parents' earnings. Financial support is not available for children in preschool or university.
- ZUS recognises that the ages of 20 and 24 are counted in terms of age, which means that students in the last years of technical and secondary schools, as well as students of post-secondary schools, are also entitled to the benefit if they reached the age limit, i.e. 20 or 24, before the start of the school year in that calendar year.
The Institute also reminded that from the new school year (2025/2026) there is one change in the granting of the 300 plus benefit - refugees from Ukraine will receive the benefit provided that the child studies in a school belonging to the Polish education system.
