Dolly Parton received an extraordinary distinction. Few people can boast such an honor.

As the Guinness Book of World Records celebrates its 70th anniversary, it has been recognized as an icon. The title was awarded to Dolly Parton, the holder of 11 entries in the book. A certificate confirming her iconic status was presented to the singer at her Nashville studio.
Since the Guinness Book of Records published its first directory in London in 1955 , its pages have chronicled extraordinary feats. From record-breaking collectors to those who put their bodies to surprising tests. Celebrities, including those in music, can also hope to earn an entry in categories such as album sales or weeks spent on the charts.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Guinness Book of World Records , the publication decided to honor one of its record holders: Dolly Parton, holder of 11 Guinness World Records. Receiving her icon certificate at her Nashville studio, the country star joined previous honorees: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, and Elton John.
"Dolly is undoubtedly one of the most respected songwriters and performers in country music history, as evidenced by the numerous Guinness World Records certifications she has received. However, her reach and influence extend far beyond the world of music," Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records , said in a statement.
As Glenday further emphasized, Parton's dedication to social issues is noteworthy – fighting poverty, improving education levels, and encouraging children to read by enriching library collections.
"It's these important, life-changing initiatives that elevate Dolly to new heights. She is a true living legend, and it's an honor to bestow upon her Guinness World Records Icon status," he added.
