The teams return to action midweek for the Copa Sudamericana playoffs . Bahia hosts América de Cali on Tuesday, while Atlético-MG faces Bucaramanga two days later in Colombia.

How was the game?

The first half was heated, with alternating power and plenty of complaints to the referee. Atlético-MG started better, but referee Davi Lacerda took center stage and struggled with more serious fouls, handing out three yellow cards and issuing 15 fouls before the home team reacted. Atlético-MG only started to make trouble again in the final minutes.

In the second half, Luciano Juba struck with a stunning goal to put Bahia ahead before Hulk appeared. The Minas Gerais team couldn't respond with Cuca's substitutes, but they equalized with the star of their star player. The number 7 scored an Olympic goal to make it 1-1.

Michel Araújo, however, was the hero of the night . The former São Paulo midfielder, with the final kick, put his team back in front, sealing a thrilling 2-1 victory at Fonte Nova.

Galo started the match by troubling Bahia's defense with their attacking trio: Scarpa, Dudu, and Hulk "talked" among themselves and gave their defenders trouble before the ten-minute mark. In the most dangerous play, Dudu found Hulk, who crossed in an attempt to find Scarpa—Juba appeared and cleared it away.
