Government grants holiday tolerance on Carnival Tuesday
The Government approved the granting of a public holiday on Carnival Tuesday, in a dispatch from the Prime Minister that will be published this Wednesday.
The announcement was made by the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, at the press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting.
"It is a measure that is justified by established practice and habit", he stated, since Carnival Tuesday is not an official holiday.
