Heavyweights push PSI to 10-year highs

The Lisbon stock exchange closed higher again, continuing the gains seen since the beginning of the week and reaching the highest levels seen in June 2014, in a session marked by the anticipation of corporate results.
The national benchmark index, the PSI, rose 1.00% to 6,988.33 points, with 12 of its 15 stocks in the green. The session was also positive at European level.
Gains were led by Mota-Engil, which presents results this Thursday. The construction company rose 3.46% to 3.052 euros.
Among the companies presenting results this Wednesday, BCP gained 2.13% to 0.5852, approaching the 0.60 euro barrier.
EDP Renováveis rose 1.83% to 9.45 euros. After the closure, the electricity company reported losses of 556 million in 2024.
