The deadline for checking and reporting invoices, for the purposes of the 2024 IRS, has been extended by three days, with taxpayers being able to validate their invoices until February 28, the Ministry of Finance announced today.

Miranda Sarmento's office states that "the high number of accesses to the e-invoice on the Finance Portal, which was recorded throughout yesterday [Monday] and which continues to be seen today, due to the end of the legal deadline for verifying and validating invoices, caused constraints and occasional limitations on access". With the extension now decided, the functionality for verifying and communicating invoices will remain available on the Finance Portal and on the e-invoice app until the end of February.

The deadline for validating the invoices to which each taxpayer associated their NIF during 2024 ended today, for expenses to be accounted for as IRS deductions.
