FIFA. Proença sees "many challenges ahead"

Pedro Proença met this Friday with Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, to discuss the “many challenges” that lie ahead.
“We have many challenges ahead, challenges that involve all agents in this football community, and we have the obligation to also defend the interests of Portuguese football at an international level”, said the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, in a statement published on the federation's website.
Visiting Miami, where he watched FC Porto and Benfica's games in the Club World Cup, Proença also participated in a meeting with representatives from other international federations and confederations, the FIFA Football Executive Summit.
“As I have always made a point of mentioning, Portugal must remain a relevant partner of the main sporting institutions in the construction of the football that we advocate”, said the Portuguese leader, at the end of the meeting in which the organization of the 2030 World Cup was also on the table.
“The FIFA president showed his full willingness to count on our country’s collaboration in building this future, praising the progress of our national teams, which make us one of the leading federations worldwide. This is a capital that we cannot waste,” he said.
