Sounds and flavors of Brazil invite you to Santo António de Vagos

On September 7th, from 11 am to 10 pm, the Santo António de Vagos sports park will host “Estação Brasil”, a free entry event that will celebrate Brazilian Independence Day through music, gastronomy and cultural diversity.
Organized by Ijexá Beat and Aveiro Cult, collectives united in the “Expoente Austero – Cultural Association”, with the support of the Parish Council of Santo António de Vagos and OMA – Aveiro Music Workshop, it will be, «more than a party», a «meeting of flavors, rhythms and affections, which aims to bring cultures together, but also to value and contribute to the integration of migrant communities, promote interculturality, dynamize and make the region known».
The idea is to create an annual initiative, "held outside of major urban centers, in less dynamic areas." Rui Homem, from the organizer, emphasized that planning is complete and that "the schedule is finalized."
Aiming to reach "all ages," the program will include, "in a welcoming and vibrant environment," live music, cuisine from all regions of Brazil, a craft market, and a kids' area.
The organization guarantees that “Estação Brasil” will be “a space where everyone will feel welcome.”
In terms of musical offerings, Brazilian rhythms will be "present," with artists and performers of samba, forró, chorinho, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), and batuque, among others. Scheduled performances include Ijexá Beat, Naná, Choro de Aveiro, Two Rocks Duo, Forró Só o Filé, Ivaldo Moreira, Prisma, Paula Freitas, Rodrigo Messer, Carolina Landim, Gomo de Tangerina, Resenha do Samba, Carlinhos and Robynho MB, Via Brasil, and Michel Farias.
