Zelenskyy to meet Starmer this morning

Russia has begun restricting some calls via Telegram and WhatsApp, accusing the two platforms of failing to share information with authorities in cases of fraud and terrorism. The announcement was made on Wednesday by the Ministry of Digital Development.
The information was also confirmed by the communications regulator (Roskomnadzor). "To combat criminals, measures are being taken to partially restrict calls on these foreign services," the agency explained, as quoted by the Russian news agency Interfax . "No other restrictions have been imposed on their functionality," it added.
Shortly after the announcement, the Ministry of Digital Development assured in a statement that access to the functionality could be restored if the platforms comply with Russian law.
The Russian governor of Volgograd said this morning that the "massive" Ukrainian drone attack on Russian territory sought to hit targets in the region. He assured that the drones were shot down, but falling debris caused a fire at a refinery.
"Firefighters quickly began putting out the fire. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," he explained on the social network Telegram .
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that during the month of July, its forces struck several significant Ukrainian infrastructure facilities, from missile factories to weapons development sites and rocket fuel production plants. The "massive" strikes, it asserts, were successful.
The strikes were concentrated in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy. According to the ministry, Russian troops also managed to destroy defense equipment provided to Kyiv by Western allies, including Patriot launchers used to protect these Ukrainian facilities.
"The Kyiv regime's attempt, together with its Western partners, to organize the production of missiles to carry out attacks inside the territory of the Russian Federation has been thwarted," he stressed in a post on the social network Telegram.
The President of Ukraine is expected to meet with the British Prime Minister later this morning, one day before the meeting between the Presidents of the United States and Russia, which will take place at a military base in Alaska.
The news comes from Sky News , which writes that the meeting will be a final push for European demands to be heard before Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin sit down together.
