Castro Marim continues free screening program for skin diseases

The now customary free screening for cancer and other skin diseases, promoted by Castro Marim City Council , takes place for the first time this year between the 21st and 23rd of May, in several locations in the municipality.

This initiative has the voluntary collaboration of dermatologist Manuela Aguiar and has allowed the detection of tumor lesions at an early stage.

It should be noted that treatment of any pre-cancerous lesions (actinic keratosis) is also carried out with liquid nitrogen, purchased for this purpose.

Screening for skin diseases begins on May 21st at the CIDAFO Citizen Space, in Odeleite, between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm, continuing to the Azinhal Continuing Care Unit between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

The following day, it will be Altura's turn, at Lar Cegonha Branca, between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

The last screenings of this first phase of 2024 will take place at the Castro Marim Municipal Library on May 23, between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
