Britney Spears would sit silently 'with a knife in her hand' in her children's bedroom at night, says ex-husband Kevin Federline

Kevin Federline writes in his new memoir, You Thought You Knew, that his children claimed their mother, Britney Spears , would sometimes stand in their bedroom doorway holding a knife while watching them sleep.
Married to the eternal pop princess from 2004 to 2007 , Federline recounts in a text seen by the New York Times : "Sometimes they would wake up at night and find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — 'Oh, you're awake?' — with a knife in her hand. Then she would turn and leave without explanation."
In excerpts from his memoir, Kevin Federline expressed concern about Britney Spears ' current condition. The singer's ex-husband stated that he believes she is "running toward something irreversible."
"It's become impossible to pretend everything is okay. From my perspective, time is ticking, and we're getting close to the 11th hour," Federline wrote, according to The Times. "Something bad will happen if things don't change, and my biggest fear is that our children will be left with the pieces."
The dancer also criticized the "Free Britney" movement , which was instrumental in ending the singer's 13-year conservatorship. He said the movement was "more damaging than fans believe," and urged the public to now focus on helping the singer.
"Now more than ever, [our children] need your support. I've been their protector for years, but now it's bigger than me," he declared. "It's time to sound the alarm."
