Mom goes viral after running barefoot for 100 meters covered in Lego pieces

A New Zealand mother went viral after breaking an unusual record and having her name etched in Guinness World Records history. And the most unusual part? The recognition came because she voluntarily decided to cross a path filled with Lego pieces barefoot. Watch the video .
Gabrielle Wall became the fastest person in the world to cross a track covered in Lego bricks barefoot. The course was 100 meters long. The record is more impressive for its challenge than its speed—she achieved the feat in 24.75 seconds—since stepping on a stray Lego brick on the living room floor is one of the greatest fears and anxieties of those with children at home.
The challenge took place in January 2025, but only went viral after the Guinness World Records Instagram page posted the story. The video has over 9 million views and over 175,000 likes.
The comments became a source of entertainment in their own right. Users joked about the mother's training: "No secrets, just years of late-night bathroom breaks dodging Lego landmines left by the kids."
“I feel like I’ve been unofficially training for this race my whole life as a mom with four Lego-loving kids at home.”

Another user commented that all it took to win was two or three kids with hundreds of Lego sets at home. Even famous brands got in on the fun; Adidas' official profile commented: "Next time, please let us give you shoes."
Others were incredulous, not understanding why she would voluntarily choose to step on Lego pieces barefoot. "Why would anyone train to do something like that?" And other parents identified with the challenge, stating that she definitely has children.
Bucket listMother of two children, Gabrielle said that the race may seem like a silly game, but it was one of the items on her bucket list , a list of things she wanted to do or achieve.
She created the list in 2022, after experiencing a serious health issue that put things into perspective. "I'm proud to have pushed myself to the limit; it was an unforgettable experience," she told Guinness World Records.
The Lego track was built with an impressive 661 pieces of the toy, which were donated by Imagination Station, a New Zealand charity that offers classes created from the toy, which was invented by a carpenter in Denmark in 1932 and is now a success around the world.
Brazilians in GuinnessSeveral Brazilians have already had their names registered in the Guinness Book of Records. Among them is João Marinho Neto, who in 2024 received the title of oldest man in the world . He assumed the title after the death of Englishman John Tinniswood, who was also 112 years old and passed away in November of the same year.
At the time, João Marinho was 112 years and 52 days old. Born in Maranguape, Ceará, in 1912, he already held the title of oldest man in Latin America. João Marinho's origins were in the countryside. The son of farmers, his family migrated to the rural area of the municipality of Apuiarés, Ceará. The municipality has a population of just under 14,000.
Brazilian actress Fernanda Montenegro also entered the Guinness Book of World Records. She holds the record for the largest audience at a philosophy reading, for her performance of Simone de Beauvoir at Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo on August 18, 2024, attended by 15,000 people.
"I share this award with everyone who attended this great meeting of art and education. A special hug to Itaú, who made this reading possible," the 95-year-old actress celebrated on Instagram.
