Officers of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine surrendered to Russian fighters in the Zaporizhzhya direction. This statement was made by the commander of a separate special forces unit with the call sign "Viking", RIA Novosti writes.

"Recently there were more people who surrendered. Some of them were even officers from the GUR units," he noted.

According to him, the surrender of officers occurred due to a successful operation to lure a number of Ukrainian military personnel to positions controlled by the Russian military.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces captured nine operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As noted, this happened near Kolodezi in the Rubtsovsk direction in the Donetsk People's Republic.

Before this, it became known that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers began to surrender more often thanks to leaflets in the form of dollars that were dropped from drones by Russian military personnel.
