Moscow court extends house arrest of blogger Mitroshina

The Chertanovsky District Court of Moscow has extended the house arrest of blogger Alexandra Mitroshina, who is accused of money laundering on an especially large scale. As TASS reports, citing judicial sources, the investigator's motion was granted.

Mitroshina is under investigation under Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (money laundering). The blogger was detained in Krasnodar Krai and then transferred to the capital. Previously, a criminal case was opened against her for non-payment of taxes, but it was closed after partial repayment of the debt.

"The court granted the investigators' request and extended Mitroshina's house arrest," the court reported.

Earlier it was reported that a man who hired a hitman for his ex-wife, her brother and an acquaintance was detained in the Samara region.
