Elon Musk's Dad Accused of Sexual Abuse by 5 of His Children

Errol Musk is facing new allegations.
Elon Musk’s estranged father has been accused of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren, according to documents obtained by The New York Times Sept. 23.
Errol, 79, was allegedly sexually abusing his children in both California and South Africa, where Errol lives and where Elon was born, per the police and court reports, as well as interviews with family members and social workers, obtained by the outlet. (In response to allegations, Errol told the New York Times in a statement published Sept. 23 that “the reports are false and nonsense in the extreme.”)
The docs alleged that the earliest incident took place in 1993, when the businessman’s then 4-year-old stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout allegedly told family members that he had touched her. Ten years later, she said she caught Errol sniffing her dirty underwear, according to The New York Times. As previously reported, Errol shared in 2018 that he and Jana had welcomed a child together years after he had divorced her mother Heide Bezuidenhout in 2004.
Errol has at least nine children and two stepchildren and, in addition to Heide, was previously married to Maye Haldeman and Sue Musk.
Family members have also accused Errol of abusing two of his daughters, as well as a stepson, according to family members. And in 2023, family members and a social worker got involved when his then 5-year-old son said that Errol had groped his buttocks, per the Times.
Three separate police investigations were opened, according to police and court records, the NYT reported. And while two of the inquiries ended, the outlet noted that it’s unclear what happened in the third and that Errol has not been convicted of any crimes.
In addition to denying the allegations, Errol alleged in a statement to the NYT that the accusations were made up by family members trying to get money from Elon by “putting the children up to say false things.”
Additionally, Errol told the Times in an email that he was only aware of one abuse allegation, however the outlet noted that in the same message he “offered explanations for the circumstances around two others.”
As for Elon, the Tesla founder hasn't spoken out publicly about the allegations against his father.
However, Errol told the Times that he and Elon have a good relationship and “are very close,” despite previously critiquing Elon’s parenting style during a February interview on the Wide Awake podcast.
“He hasn’t been a good dad,” he said at the time. “They were too rich, too many nannies. Then he had five children with the same woman, five sons all brought up. Each one had its own nanny.”
E! News has reached out to both Errol and Elon for comment but has not heard back.
