When they could not reach 60-year-old Benardete, who lives in a housing estate in Çamlık Neighborhood, the authorities reported the situation to the gendarmerie and entered the house with the facility's health team. It was determined that Benardete, who was found motionless in the house, had died.

The Bodrum Public Prosecutor, who arrived at the scene, conducted an investigation. In the initial investigation, it was learned that no signs of assault were found on Benardete's body. Benardete's body was sent to the Muğla Forensic Medicine Institute after the preliminary autopsy procedures.
