LAST MINUTE ISRAEL NEWS: Secret plan from Israel! 'Planes will be moved to Cyprus and Greece'

According to reports in the Israeli press, "the operation was led by Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev and the Director of the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority, Brigadier General Shmuel Zakai. The plan was carried out in cooperation with authorities in Greece and Cyprus ."

Just hours before Israel’s airstrikes on Iran on June 13, dozens of Israeli aircraft and cabin crew were secretly relocated to Greece and Cyprus, The Jerusalem Post reported, “to prepare to evacuate thousands of Israelis as soon as airspace reopens .”

'TO PROTECT THE PLANES'

But the real purpose of the move was not just to repatriate Israelis. According to Maariv, the plan was also to protect the planes from possible Iranian attacks. Israeli defense officials predicted that Tehran could launch missile attacks on Israeli planes.

'ARROW AND THAAD FAILED'

Israel’s Arrow and THAAD air defense systems failed to intercept the missile, state television i24News reported, a worrying setback for systems that have previously successfully repelled Houthi attacks.

THEY WERE SEEN IN ATHENS

Israeli state aircraft were spotted at Athens International Airport in Athens, the capital of Greece.

One of the planes was seen to be the 'Wings of Zion' aircraft, which is also used by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

MANY FLIGHTS SUSPENDED UNTIL END OF SUMMER

Whenever tensions escalate, most airlines cancel their flights, leaving El Al as one of the few reliable options for flights to and from Israel. Last Thursday, British Airways announced that all flights to Israel would be suspended until October 25 – the end of the summer season.
