President Erdoğan's call to the Japanese press on Gaza: This disaster is a matter for all of humanity

President Erdoğan's call to the Japanese press on Gaza: This disaster is a matter for all of humanity

The following statements were made in the statement made by the Directorate of Communications:

An article written by our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, calling for a shared conscience from both ends of Asia to the world, was published in both Japanese and English in the Nikkei Shimbun, one of Japan's leading newspapers. In his article, our President emphasized that the bridge of friendship between Turkey and Japan is nourished not only by official documents but also by shared conscience, humanitarian aid, and historical memories. He stated that Turkish determination and Japanese engineering have joined forces in numerous projects, from the Marmaray and Osmangazi Bridges to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, our second bridge across the Bosphorus, and the Golden Horn Bridge. He stated that this cooperation is not merely built on steel and concrete, but also on trust, sincerity, and a bond of affection. Our President also emphasized that Turkey-Japan cooperation can produce constructive solutions for humanity in the face of global crises. He highlighted the importance of humanitarian diplomacy and cited the joint projects of TİKA and JICA as examples.

GAZA CALL:

Our President also issued a strong call regarding Gaza: "As a result of Israel's genocide and occupation, we are witnessing a situation where children are starving, hospitals are inoperable, cities are in ruins, and millions are deprived of their most basic needs. This tragedy is a matter for all of humanity. As Turkey, we have not been silent, and we will not be silent. We are striving on every platform to ensure a ceasefire, unhindered access to humanitarian aid, and the protection of innocent civilians. However, we know that our voice must be louder and our influence must be broader. Japan's wisdom prioritizing peace, its commitment to international law, and its conscientious sensitivity are invaluable in this process. When combined with Türkiye's regional influence and humanitarian aid capacity, a dignified and powerful partnership will emerge."
