The signing ceremony held at the SSB was attended by Defense Industries President Haluk Görgün, Deputy Minister of National Defense Bilal Durdalı, Land Forces Commander General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, BMC Board Chairman Fuat Tosyalı and Nurol Holding Board Vice Chairman Oğuz Çarmıklı. Within the scope of the contract, more than 2,000 high-tech armored vehicles will be added to the Land Forces Command's inventory, and these vehicles, developed with Turkish engineering, will be equipped with high ballistic protection, advanced command-control systems and domestic active protection technologies.
Defense Industry President Haluk Görgün, in his speech at the signing ceremony, stated that superior products and vehicles have emerged in every respect, not only in terms of their technical features but also when compared to models that can be competed internationally, and said, "Our heroic army will use these. We are not only ensuring that such a project is brought to our country in a cost-effective manner. At the same time, we have platforms on a platform basis that we can use as and when we want to, as we wish, to ensure our national independence. The point we have reached is at a level that is followed with admiration, envy and as an example in the world."
'WE EXPORTED OVER 230 PRODUCTS TO 180 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES'
Görgün stated that they are trying to do their best and trying to meet the needs with the increasing support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the mission, vision and goals he has set forth, and said, "I can state that Turkey is by far the most successful country in the world today in terms of localization and nationalization rates in the defense industry. Last year, we exported over 230 products to 180 different countries. We have a very wide range of products. Not only platforms, but also payloads used in platforms, technological products, weapons, ammunition, electro-optic systems, radars, almost every product a country needs in the field of defense and in terms of independence, and it has become capable of exporting them. I received a weekly report from the Defense Industry Exporters' Association today. I saw a 34 percent increase in deliveries in the first 2 months of the year compared to the previous year, over 650 million dollars. The contracts we make are greater than the amount of products we deliver every year. Turkish defense industry companies have signed export contracts worth over 20 billion dollars in the last 2 years. The contract amount signed by our companies in the first two months of this year is close to 2 billion dollars. As we produce, develop, share new products and platforms with friendly and allied countries, we will continue to increase the level of technology and nationalization rates with determination and determination. The project is not just an armored vehicle, but a deterrent element with the electronic systems it contains and the tower it carries on top, beyond the armored vehicle," he said.
