The incident occurred at Marmaray Süreyyapaşa Station at around 16.45 yesterday. According to the information received, an argument broke out between DE, who was travelling with her two children, and a female passenger over the issue of giving her a seat. During the argument, ED (50), who was on the train, beat DE.

The fight grew when I.A. intervened later. The parties got off the train when it pulled up to the station and continued arguing there. The female passengers at the station tried to calm the children down as they were scared. Those moments were recorded by a passenger's mobile phone camera.

COUP SUSPECTS CAPTURED

Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. DE, who was beaten in the fight, was taken to the hospital where it was determined that he had a broken nose. Following DE's complaint, suspects I.A. was caught at the scene, and ED was caught later as a result of the work carried out. Of the two suspects taken into custody, I.A. was released by the judicial authorities after his procedures. Legal procedures initiated against ED for the crime of 'intentional injury' are ongoing.
