At the hearing at the Kahramanmaraş 4th High Criminal Court, the defendant in custody Hasan Çam, the defendants not in custody MK, H.İ.U., HY, SB and A.Ö., as well as the complainants and lawyers of the parties were present. The defendants not in custody MY and YK attended the hearing via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) from the provinces where they are located.

In his defense, the detained defendant, Hasan Çam, claimed that some of the findings in the expert reports were erroneous.

One of the defendants, MY, stated that he was assigned as an assistant controller in a building inspection company and said, "I agreed to half salary so that I would not go to the field because of my inexperience. It was said that experienced people would go to the field. There is no evaluation about me in the last two expert reports."

A.Ö. stated that the trial of only two public officials was insufficient and said, "The license process is the responsibility of many units. We do not have the duty to inspect the building site. There are inconsistencies in the expert reports. We fulfilled our duty in accordance with the legislation."

The other defendants who were not arrested also denied the charges against them.

The court panel, which also listened to the lawyers, decided to continue the defendants' current situation and adjourned the hearing to October 17 in order to resolve the missing issues.

In the indictment prepared by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a prison sentence of up to 22 years and 6 months is sought for 6 defendants for the crime of "causing the death of more than one person through conscious negligence", and a prison sentence of between 2 and 15 years is sought for 2 public officials for the crime of "causing the death or injury of more than one person through negligence".
