TURKSAT will ensure uninterrupted and secure communication in Syria

A delegation led by TÜRKSAT General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay held separate meetings in Damascus with Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Abdusselam Heykel, Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa, and Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Hussam Hallak, establishing the basis for comprehensive cooperation.
Following these discussions, it was decided that TÜRKSAT would take a leading role in Syria's communications infrastructure and digitalization process. As part of this initiative, satellite internet services using Ka-band technology have been launched in Syria. Thanks to the high-speed connections provided via TÜRKSAT 5B, access to digital public services has been made possible, particularly in areas with limited infrastructure.
Access to digital public services via satellite terminalsSatellite terminals established by TÜRKSAT have enabled public institutions in many critical locations in Syria to access digital services. These services include satellite-based internet, television and radio broadcasting, e-government solutions, disaster and emergency communication systems, and private network infrastructure.
This initiative aims to increase the continuity and efficiency of public services even in regions lacking fiber and cable infrastructure. It also ensures uninterrupted communication during disasters, ensuring the region's digital access during times of crisis.
The service will be expandedTÜRKSAT plans to expand its services across Syria. By increasing the installation of satellite terminals, the agency aims to address digital infrastructure deficiencies in the region and strengthen the accessibility of public services.
