A lawsuit has been filed against social media phenomenon Merve Taşkın , who was sentenced to house arrest on charges of " obscenity " following a post she made on her social media account, requesting up to 3 years in prison .

Detained on February 14 by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of an investigation launched on charges of "obscenity" due to a post she made on her social media account, social media phenomenon Merve Taşkın was released after a judicial control decision in the form of house arrest was issued against her. Following the completion of the investigation into Taşkın, a lawsuit was filed against her requesting a prison sentence of up to 3 years for the crime of "obscenity."

Merve Taşkın was detained by the İstanbul Public Security Branch Directorate Morality Bureau teams due to her post on her social media account, which included the following statements: "I can be a girlfriend for 'dinner' for those who are single on February 14th.
