Vice President Yilmaz: 'Fighting against unconscious internet use is the duty of all of us'

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said, "I believe that it is the duty of all of us to fight against digital addiction, disinformation and unconscious internet use. We are carrying out many studies within this framework, we are fighting against all kinds of addiction."
In his speech at the Great Youth Meeting program organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the North Ankara Culture and Congress Center, Yılmaz said that their understanding of development, progress and progress is people-oriented and that is why they have made great investments in young people and children for the last 22 years.
Stating that they invested in educational infrastructure from pre- school to university and postgraduate education and established new universities, Yılmaz said that they employed hundreds of thousands of new teachers.
Yilmaz stated that they want children to study under more favorable conditions and that educational books are given free of charge.
"WE PROVIDED GRANT AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO MORE THAN 100 THOUSAND YOUTH"
Yılmaz stated that the number of universities increased from 76 to 208, and emphasized that the academic staff increased from 70 thousand to 184 thousand.
Stating that there is a dormitory capacity of approximately 1 million people for university students, Yılmaz noted that Turkey is one of the countries with the highest dormitory capacity in the world and that the number of dormitories increased from 190 to 862.
Underlining that they gave 3 thousand lira scholarships to undergraduate students, 6 thousand lira to graduate students and 9 thousand lira to doctoral students, Yılmaz said that they opened 522 youth centers in 81 provinces to provide young people with access to social, cultural and sports activities and that they continued these investments under the leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Cevdet Yılmaz stated that they support the entrepreneurship of young people and that is why İŞKUR has started the Youth Program, and said:
"I would like to announce this especially to our university students. Now, while you are studying at university, you have the opportunity to work part-time through İŞKUR. You gain work experience. You also earn your pocket money. It also has a financial reward. We have provided grants and financial support to more than 100 thousand young people through KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK, and we continue to do so. We have an event called TEKNOFEST. In the past, an atmosphere was created that said, you cannot do it, you cannot succeed. Unfortunately, our young people and children could not be given self-confidence. But today, there is the TEKNOFEST youth. There is a youth that follows the latest developments in technology and puts forward their ideas in these areas with self-confidence. We will continue these with faith."
"WE FIGHT AGAINST ALL KINDS OF ADDICTION"
Stating that they have made major investments in vocational training and will continue to invest in this area, Yilmaz noted the following:
"One of the important risks that threatens our youth is digital addiction. It is actually a threat not only to you, but to all of us, young people. For adults and young people, no matter what age we are. Of course, we will use digital opportunities. We are not hostile to technology, but we will not be slaves to technology. We will not allow technology to prevent us from being free and independent people. I believe that it is the duty of all of us to fight against digital addiction, disinformation and unconscious internet use. We are carrying out many studies within this framework, we are fighting against all kinds of addictions. We are fighting from substance addiction to gambling addiction. Our law enforcement forces are fighting against these drug dealers, those who try to create addiction. Our duty is to keep our youth and children away from these risks and prevent them from creating demands. We think that family is very important in this regard."
"WE APPRECIATE THE WORK OF OUR PROFESSORS IN THE DIRECTORATE OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS"
Recalling that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared this year as the " Year of Family ", Yılmaz said that they established the Family and Youth Fund to support young people who want to get married.
Stating that the Presidency of Religious Affairs is systematically, organizedly and continuously targeted by some individuals and circles, Yilmaz said, "No matter what they do. This nation, this youth will continue to support the Presidency of Religious Affairs, God willing. We see and appreciate the work of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and our devoted teachers in the Presidency. We say, may God be pleased with each and every one of them. Vice President Yilmaz reminded that there is only a short time left for the month of Ramadan and said, "At the end of my speech, I would like to congratulate you on your Ramadan. May God Almighty first of all bring us to Ramadan in good health and well-being. May He bring us to the Night of Power and finally to the feast, God willing. The month of Ramadan is a very busy month for our Religious Affairs Directorate, a very fruitful month. I wish them success in all their work in the field during Ramadan."
