The International Adana Golden Boll Festival Executive Board made a statement regarding the discussions on whether the festival would be held following the arrest of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Honorary President of the 32nd International Golden Boll Film Festival , Zeydan Karalar .

The Golden Boll Film Festival Executive Committee announced that the 32nd International Golden Boll Film Festival will take place as planned from September 22-28. The Executive Committee, chaired by Menderes Samancılar and including Nebil Özgentürk, İsmail Timuçin, Hüseyin Orhan, Gökhan Mutlay, and Mahmut Göğebakan, stated in a statement that Karalar's arrest was "a decision that offends the social conscience." The following was noted:

Mr. Zeydan Karalar has always maintained that municipal governance is not just about infrastructure and services, but that supporting culture and the arts is one of the most important elements that nourishes the spirit of a city.
