AKP's candidate for Parliament Speaker has been announced

AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler delivered the petition regarding the nomination of incumbent speaker Numan Kurtulmuş for the 28th Legislative Term Second Term Assembly Speakership election to TBMM Secretary General Talip Uzun.
Güler, who made a statement to reporters after the application, reminded that the Parliament Speaker candidacy process started on May 28, and said, "As the AKP Group, we submitted our petition to the TBMM General Secretariat with the signatures of all our MPs to nominate our Istanbul MP and current Parliament Speaker Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş Bey as a candidate for Parliament Speaker for the remaining 3-year term of the 28th Legislative Term." Güler, who stated that candidacy applications will end as of Sunday within the scope of Article 94 of the Constitution and Article 10 of the Parliament Internal Regulation, said that the Parliament Speaker elections will be completed on Tuesday, June 3.
In the elections for the Speaker of the Parliament, a two-thirds majority is required in the first two rounds and an absolute majority in the third round. If the election does not take place, the Speaker of the Parliament who receives the most votes from among the two candidates who receive the most votes is elected.
