Allegations that the government is selling off bridges

According to the claim in the news of US-based media outlet Bloomberg, the government decided to sell the operating rights of nine highways along with the July 15 Martyrs and FSM bridges.
The report stated that if the sale is completed, it will be the largest privatization deal in the country's history.
Sources speaking to Bloomberg, whose names were withheld, claimed that the Privatization Administration (PA), affiliated with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, had sent a request for bids to banks for bridges and highways.
The two bridges were also put out to tender in 2012, but then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan deemed the $5.7 billion bid insufficient. Erdoğan said that a deal under $7 billion would be "treason."
The Treasury Department has not yet commented on the Bloomberg report. The report noted that negotiations are in the early stages and that the deal could fall through.
