Be careful with your makeup in summer!

Dermatologist Dr. Çağdaş Koç emphasizes the importance of paying close attention to makeup during the summer months, saying, "Makeup forms a layer on the skin. We sweat a lot in the summer months. When this happens, we experience comedones and acne more frequently. Because we sweat more in the summer, we also lose a lot of water. This causes our blackheads and pores to close. This is where we see acne and comedones more frequently. Therefore, we can wear makeup for special occasions during the summer, but we should be careful not to apply it too daily."

Koç noted that makeup can be worn on special occasions, but that careful attention should be paid to cleansing the skin afterwards. "We should be careful to cleanse and moisturize our skin with cleansers. We have some serums containing glycolic acid, retinoic acid, and hyaluronic acid. Of these, glycolic acid and retinoic acid serums, as well as exfoliating products, should be used only at night," he said.

Dr. Koç stated that he doesn't recommend using these products during the summer months if there's sensitivity, saying, "If there are no problems, they can be used only at night before bed. Sunscreen should be used during the day. In addition, there's niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and azelaic acid. There's no problem with their interaction with the sun. As long as they use sunscreen, they can use these products."
