Dehydration triggers migraine!
Neurologist Dr. Adem Delice stated that migraine is a significant neurological disorder that negatively impacts quality of life. "Increased temperatures, especially during the summer months, direct exposure to sunlight, dehydration, and changes in sleep patterns can trigger migraine attacks. When the body's temperature balance is disrupted, blood vessels in the brain can dilate, triggering a migraine attack," he said.
"GOING OUTSIDE AN AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO RISKY"Delice emphasized that sudden temperature changes pose a risk for migraine sufferers, saying, "Suddenly leaving air-conditioned environments for hot outdoor environments, or conversely, exposure to sudden temperature changes, can trigger migraine attacks. Therefore, patients should be in a balanced and controlled environment whenever possible."
"SUN PROTECTION AND WATER CONSUMPTION ARE IMPORTANT"Delice said that people with migraines should avoid going outside during peak sun exposure, protect their head from the sun, and drink plenty of fluids.
"Furthermore, factors such as intense perfume, hunger and stress can also trigger migraines in the summer months," said Delice, emphasizing that headache symptoms should not be underestimated and regular doctor check-ups should not be neglected.
