Expert warned: 'Not every dizziness is vertigo'

Vertigo has become a nightmare for many people in recent years. Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist Mustafa Kemal Olgun provided information about vertigo to the public.
Specialist Dr. Olgun emphasized that vertigo is a type of dizziness and that not every dizziness is vertigo. He said, "People can get confused when they hear vertigo, wondering if it's a serious condition. Dizziness is a distressing condition. First, we listen to the patient's story. Because we need to examine dizziness in three main ways. The first is systemic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure. The second is neurological diseases. The third is the inner ear, which is our organ of hearing and balance. If we rule out the other two options, we ask our patient a few questions. We ask if they have tinnitus, dizziness, nausea, or balance problems. Based on the answers, we perform certain maneuvers on our patients."
"WE PUT CRYSTALS IN PLACE WITH MANOEUVRES"Olgun emphasized that they perform two sessions on patients if a finding is found. "Crystals are particles in our inner ear that can be seen with electron microscopes. They disrupt the fluid balance in our inner ear, causing dizziness. We use these maneuvers to reset the crystals. There are dizziness medications that need to be used long-term. We also check vitamin and mineral balance. We check the body's immunity. Actually, there's a fourth aspect to this process. We examine our patient but find no problems. Blood pressure, minerals, and everything else are fine, but the patient complains. That's when we look for migraines or tension and stress."
