Forest fire in Elazığ

The fire, the cause of which has not yet been determined, quickly grew and spread over a wide area. Upon notification, many teams were dispatched to the region under the coordination of the Elazığ Forestry Regional Directorate; fire trucks belonging to the Alacakaya and Maden municipalities also supported the extinguishing efforts.

While 3 water trucks, 3 first response vehicles and 20 personnel from the Regional Directorate of Forestry responded to the fire, the flames were brought under control at some points as a result of the intense efforts of the teams. Cooling efforts are continuing in the region.

Elazığ Governor Numan Hatipoğlu, who went to the fire area and made investigations, said the following in his statement:

“Our fire department and teams from the Forestry Regional Directorate responded very quickly to the fire that broke out in our Maden district. Unfortunately, a house belonging to one of our citizens was damaged. Other than that, thank God, there was no loss of life. I would like to thank all our teams, especially the Forestry Regional Directorate workers who worked with great devotion, our gendarmerie and the officers who intervened in the fire. Get well soon.”
