Gaziantep's 'health director' crisis! MHP MP alleges imposition

The developments surrounding the dismissal of chief physicians from four state hospitals in Gaziantep have become a hot topic on the political agenda.

Some media outlets claimed that these appointments were made with the knowledge and approval of MHP Gaziantep MP Sermet Atay. However, Atay vehemently denied these allegations in a written statement.

Stating that the dismissals were not carried out with his knowledge at all, Atay described the Provincial Health Director as “impractical and unsuccessful” and argued that the appointments were based on political affiliation rather than merit.

"I BELIEVE HE IS A FAILED PROVINCIAL HEALTH DIRECTOR"

MHP Gaziantep Deputy Sermet Atay emphasized that he, as a People's Alliance deputy, and seven other AKP deputies were not informed of these appointments. Atay made the following statement:

-Recently, some media outlets have been reporting that I was informed and given my approval for the replacement of the Chief Physicians of four hospitals in Gaziantep. This is a complete LIE!!

-The general practitioner, who couldn't even stay in Kahramanmaraş for a single day, replaced these four chief physicians under duress by the Provincial Health Director. As a People's Alliance representative, the Health Director neither informed me nor obtained my approval. The information referred to our seven AKP members of parliament.

-I believe that all of these appointments and some high-level appointments are wrong.

-I believe that the sole reason why the health problems in Gaziantep have not been solved is the incompetent and incompetent provincial health director who has been imposed on Gaziantep.

-And naturally, our expectation from the Ministry of Health is the appointment of a provincial health director worthy of Gaziantep.

It is strange that Prof. Dr. Serdar Türkmen, the only Professor Chief Physician in Gaziantep, was dismissed from his post.

The vast majority of appointments stem from political cronyism. Those who support this move by the Provincial Health Director prioritize their personal interests over the interests of Gaziantep. I respectfully submit this to the public of Gaziantep.
