Farah Zeynep Abdullah's Strong Reaction to the Detention Decision of Cornelian Cherry Sherbet Screenwriter Merve Göntem!
Merve Göntem, one of the screenwriters of "Redcurrant Sherbet," was detained for remarks she made in a YouTube interview four years ago. The incident sparked widespread outrage on social media, and Farah Zeynep Abdullah, who plays Dilruba in the series, also voiced her strong reaction.

According to a report by Birsen Altuntaş, Merve Göntem was taken to the Vatan Police Department last evening and detained. It was revealed that the detention order was based on answers she had given on a YouTube show four years ago.
Her lawyer's statement to T24 emphasized that Göntem's words were based on a fictional character and were being recirculated after being cut and reused. The statement also stated that Göntem, the screenwriter, is the mother of a five-month-old baby and that her mental and physical health has been severely affected by social media lynchings and death threats.

Let's leave Farah Zeynep Abdullah 's reaction as follows:
Merve Göntem explains her script, explaining where the character was inspired by, examples she's seen in her own life, and how this is reflected in her script and the character she's written. She says, "If we're going to talk, let's talk about the conditions in the country where women like the character she created in her script want to go abroad." That's the series , folks, and Merve, as the screenwriter, speaks about it. The platform that publishes it also requires membership, meaning no one is forced to watch this series; there are parental controls on such platforms anyway. I can't believe a screenwriter was arrested for that interview!
