1 of 3 people who entered the sea at night in Mersin died and 2 people are missing
The incident occurred on the Atakent -Yapraklıkoy coast. Three unidentified people who entered the sea to cool off at night began to be dragged out to sea due to strong waves. Gendarmerie and Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification of citizens who noticed the people struggling in the sea.
As a result of the search efforts, the lifeless body of one of the women who was swept away by the waves was found. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing to find the woman, whose identity has not yet been determined, as well as the two missing people.
Authorities also reported that an investigation has been launched to determine the identities of the missing persons.
