Dog terror in schoolyard in Ümraniye: Bites 5 students
The incident took place the other day in a secondary school in the Ihlamurkuyu Neighborhood of the Ümraniye district.
According to the allegations, the owned dog that escaped its chain entered the middle school yard. The dog attacked many students there and was later removed by the intervention of teachers. 5 students and 1 teacher who were attacked by the dog suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The injured were taken to hospitals by ambulance after the first intervention at the scene. The dog, which was taken out of the school, this time attacked a mother and her 7-year-old daughter walking on the road. The dog was separated with difficulty by the intervention of people around. The owner of the dog, AK, whose identity was determined by the police teams, was caught and detained. AK, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was sent to the courthouse for the crime of "releasing an animal in a way that would endanger it". The dog was taken into custody by municipal teams.
Hayat Irmak Demir, 7, who was injured in the arm and face when a dog attacked her while she was going to the health center with her mother, described the horror she experienced. Demir said, "I was holding hands with my mother, when the dog suddenly came and jumped on me. It bit my face and threw me on the ground. My mother and the people around me saved me. The dog attacked my mother too. It pulled my hair with its teeth and bit my shoulder. It hurt a lot. I am fine now, I also thank the brothers who saved us."
Mother Kübra Demir stated that they will file a criminal complaint and said, "We were walking with my daughter, the dog suddenly jumped on us. Some citizens I do not know came and tried to save her. I will file a criminal complaint. I will seek what is rightfully mine. We cannot send our children outside, I want the dogs to be collected."
