Fire breaks out in a disabled care center in Izmir: Nearly 100 citizens evacuated

According to reports, a fire broke out in a four-story private disabled care center in the Dokuz Eylül neighborhood this evening. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but numerous fire trucks and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. Approximately 100 disabled residents were quickly evacuated by staff and crews.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams responded to the fire with numerous vehicles and personnel. Residents inside the building were evacuated safely, and thanks to the teams' timely and effective response, the flames were brought under control before they could spread to the surrounding area. The rapid extinguishing of the fire prevented a potential disaster.
Dense smoke formed in the building during the fire. Twelve disabled citizens, who were identified as suffering minor smoke effects, were transported to surrounding hospitals by ambulance.
