Heartbreaking detail in the Pınar Zorlu case: It was revealed that she threatened to burn

Leaving home to go to work on the morning of December 31st in Antalya , Pınar Zorlu encountered her ex-husband Gürhan Üzer on the street. The two argued in the middle of the street and Zorlu called for help by pressing the emergency button on the KADES application. During those moments, Üzer poured the gasoline canister he had brought with him onto Zorlu and set the young woman on fire. Pınar Zorlu was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and lost her 19-day fight for life. The first hearing of the case, which had a wide impact on the public following the tragic incident, was held at the 4th High Criminal Court of the Antalya Courthouse.
DEFENDANT DID NOT ATTEND THE HEARING
In the first hearing of the Pınar Zorlu case, the defendant Gürhan Üzer did not attend the hearing on the grounds that he was poisoned in prison and was in intensive care. It was decided that the defendant would give his statement after he was discharged. In the indictment prepared by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the trial began with a request for a life sentence for Gürhan Üzer, who planned the attack and caused the death of Pınar Zorlu, on the charge of "deliberate killing by inflicting torture with monstrous feelings" .

Meriç Katı, who witnessed the moments of the attack experienced by Pınar Zorlu, was heard as a witness in court. In his statement, Katı said; "When I left the workplace and looked, I saw the male person beating the woman. I thought there was a fight between two young people. I saw the woman's coat come off during the beating. I shouted for him not to hit her, but he did not listen to me. I shouted 'The police are coming', but he continued his action. At that moment, the defendant had a shining object in his hand, I thought it was a knife. I could not approach because there was a road between them and me. Then I saw that the woman was burning. I did not see how he set her on fire. He disappeared after he set her on fire. He did not listen to anyone in the area. The people in the area intervened with a fire extinguisher."

Dursane Öner, who testified as a witness at the hearing, stated that she heard Pınar Zorlu screaming and shouting in detail. Öner, who stated that she worked at a local butcher shop, said; "A woman shouted for help. The man had a lighter in his hand. When she saw the lighter, the woman pushed it away.
