Horrific murder in Avcılar: Woman shot after screaming

The incident occurred on the first floor of a 6-storey building on Berik Street in Merkez Mahallesi at around 18:00. Upon hearing a woman scream and then gunshots coming from the house, residents of the area reported the incident to the police. Upon receiving the report, teams determined that Murat Yıldız had been shot and killed. The woman in the house was taken to the police station to give her statement. The police have started an operation to catch 6 suspects, 2 of whom are women, who were determined to have left the building after the incident.

NARCOTICS POLICE IN ACTION

Avcılar Police Department Public Security Bureau teams determined in their investigation that narcotics teams had conducted an operation at this address a while ago due to drug allegations. After residents of the area reported that some people were coming and going in many vehicles late at night, support was requested from the Istanbul Police Department Narcotics Branch teams. While crime scene investigation teams were continuing their work, Narcotics Branch teams found some narcotics in the house during their search. A specially trained narcotics dog was then brought to the house and searched. However, no narcotics were found in the second search.

FUNERAL WAS REMOVED TO THE FORENSIC MEDICINE

After the examination of the house by the Public Prosecutor, it was determined that Murat Yıldız, who had marks of blows on his body and died as a result of a bullet, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. The police's investigation into the incident is ongoing.

'FIRST THE WOMAN'S SCREAM, THEN THE GUNSHOT'

Speaking about the incident, Okan Ateş, one of the residents of the neighborhood, said, "I heard a woman screaming. I was going to the market the first time. I looked back and ignored it, thinking it was a family fight. After I got back home, I heard more screaming and gunshots. Before I could even think about what was going on, I heard the second gunshot. I called the police, the police came. We described the people who left, as far as we could see. A total of 6 people, 2 of whom were women, left the house. One got into a white car and left. One got on a red scooter and left, and even came back to check. We don't know anyone. About 1-1.5 years ago, a narcotics raid took place here at night. They entered the house with a battering ram. They left without finding anything. The same people. We, as a neighborhood, are also complaining. I have been living in this neighborhood for 15 years. Other than that, there is no fighting or noise in our neighborhood."
