A heartbroken Plymouth mum is mourning the loss of her precious little girl who "brightened every single room she entered and left everyone with a smile".

The family of the seven year old, from Prince Rock, had to endure the unimaginable, switching off her life support machine on a devastating day in August.

Young Bonnie Haydon, aged seven, died "so peacefully" in her mum's embrace last month, in what represents every parent's worst fear.

Mum of Bonnie, Tasmine Nichols, is shattered by the death of her "baby girl" after the seven year old "tragically never emerged from an induced coma" - and now they must arrange her funeral.

Tasmine, aged 28, revealed that Bonnie had been "repeatedly admitted to Derriford Hospital since July", reports Plymouth Live.

The little girl was on her "second stay" on August 10 and was discharged home, but just 12 days later, Tasmine rushed Bonnie back to hospital.

Bonnie was diagnosed with asthma from a very young age, but "had been managing well over the years", until this year, her mum said.

The seven year old had an inhaler and was taking medication for her asthma, but she was a cheerful little girl, "bursting with energy" - and her family now miss her desperately.

Mum, Tasmine said: "On August 25 she was running around the hospital playing, dancing and singing everything a child would do. But the next day (August 26) she was placed into an induced coma in the early hours.

"At first I was told they were going to sedate her, so she can get a little bit of rest as she was very tired, but when I walked back in I was then told she had to be placed into a coma which I never got an answer as to why. Sadly, Bonnie never came out of the coma.

"Later she was rushed to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where she was doing so well until 9am in the morning (on August 27). They rushed her for a CT scan and I was told my daughter's brain had no activity.

"On August 28, she was taken for an MRI to see if there was any brain activity at all. I then had to find out that my baby girl had absolutely no brain activity at all, Bristol hospital was amazing, they explained everything and never kept us in the dark, then in the early hours of August 29, we let her go."

Family friend Charlie Wilkinson has established a GoFundMe appeal to support mum Tasmine and Bonnie's relatives during this devastating period.

Charlie revealed that Tasmine is "attempting to endure every parent's most dreadful nightmare, arranging a funeral for her baby girl".

Posting on the GoFundMe appeal, Charlie said: "Bonnie deserves the most beautiful and special send off and we want to help take that stress away so her family can focus on saying goodbye.

"Every single penny will go towards giving Bonnie the most stunning and special day, one that shows just how loved she was and always will be. She will forever be seven, forever loved, and forever missed.

"Thank you so much to everyone for your love, support, and kindness during this time. Please donate if you can and share this page so we can give Bonnie the beautiful goodbye she truly deserves."
