PMQs LIVE: Kemi Badenoch to skewer Keir Starmer on migration in Commons clash
Kemi Badenoch and Sir Keir Starmer will clash in the Commons at noon on Wednesday. Their encounter at the Despatch Box will mark one week since Rachel Reeves rattled markets when she was crying in the chamber beside the Prime Minister.
The Government insisted it was a “personal matter” that had upset the Chancellor, but speculation had mounted that she could be sacked. Markets responded to her distress with bond yields spiking and the pound sterling surrendering ground against the euro and dollar.
One week on, Sir Keir has lost an MP to an independent party, marked one year in office and hosted French president Emmanuel Macron on a state visit. Tory leader Mrs Badenoch could take aim at Sir Keir's failure to tackle the small boat crisis.
