King Charles' Communications Secretary and Prince Harry's new US-based PR chief were recently photographed on a club terrace - which later sparked speculation of potential "peace talks" regarding the monarch and his youngest son. Back in early May, Harry, 40, spoke to the BBC about his hopes for reconcile with his father - admitting that, at that time, the King was not on speaking terms on him.

The royal made the revelation during an interview after losing an appeal over the levels of security he and his family are entitled to if and when they visit the UK. The meeting has now been described as an "informal drink" rather than a formal negotiation after it was speculated that Harry and Meghan Markle had been behind the leaking of details of the meeting - something the couple have now strongly denied.

It has now emerged that Harry could be set to meet with the King in September, when the former working royal is set to return to the UK for WellChild Awards.

Hopes for a reconciliation have been heighten by the recent "peace talks" between their aides.

The Mail on Sunday revealed the news of the "peace talks" over the past weekend, with sources sharing that it was the initial step for the "rapprochement process".

A source told the publication: "There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years. There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about." Harry was represented by Meredith Maines, who is his chief communications officer and head of his household in Montecito, California, who flew in from Los Angeles.

Meredith met Tobyn Andreae, the King's Communications Secretary. Liam Maguire, who runs the Sussexes' PR team in the UK, was also present.

The trio met at the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL), which is a three-minute walk from Clarence House - the monarch's London residence.

Meredith Maines is said to be the one who organised Harry's BBC interview in May.
