So This Is How Liberty Dies: With a Revenge of the Sith Anniversary Re-Release

Darth Vader may have famously screamed “Nooooooo” but you’ll be screaming “Yessssss” April 25. That’s when Disney and Lucasfilm are re-releasing Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith back in theaters for its 20th anniversary. And, this time, you can watch it in 4DX.
Yes, it’s been 20 years since the 2005 release of the third and final film in George Lucas’ Star Wars prequel trilogy. The final piece of the saga that saw a young boy named Anakin Skywalker become a Jedi and then turn to the Dark Side as the infamous Darth Vader. To mark the occasion, artist Matt Ferguson created a new poster for the film which you can see in full below.

Paging Bottleneck Gallery. Get us a full release on this one. It’s a great poster. Very reminiscent of that unforgettable teaser poster for the film as well as, clearly, Ferguson’s work on both Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace. Bring on Attack of the Clones!
As for Sith though, the film will be in theaters for one week only in multiple formats including the aforementioned 4DX. No word if there will be a charred smell accompanying the final battle on Mustafar. Also no word when tickets will go on sale, but keep an eye on the official Star Wars social media channels.
Fans still debate which of the three prequels is their favorite and you’ll, incredibly, find people who defend each of the three films. My money is on Revenge of the Sith though. It’s got some big issues, as all the prequels do, but the mere fact that after two movies we actually got to see the things we’d been dreaming about our entire lives—mainly, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker fighting on Mustafar and Anakin becoming Vader—put it over the top for me, even with the hilarious misuse of Padmé, the generally underdeveloped villain in General Grievous, and more.
Written and directed by George Lucas—it’s his final live-action Star Wars movie—Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Frank Oz, Jimmy Smits, Peter Mayhew, Ahmed Best, Oliver Ford Davies, Temuera Morrison, Anthony Daniels, Silas Carson, Kenny Baker, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christopher Lee. What a line-up.
